Pierre Schmidt
Pierre Schmidt, also known as „drømsjel“, was born in 1987 in a small city near Cologne. Holding an apprenticeship at an advertising agency here from 2009 to 2011 before moving to Berlin, where he has lived and worked ever since. drømsjel's artworks float freely between illustration and collage, traditional and digital. The artist splices vintage photographs of well-groomed ladies and gentlemen that evoke the standards of 20th-century propriety, turning them into bastions of surreal visions.
